It involved contemporary art and video installations with an exciting outdoor performance that connects us and the Universe.

The main performance for this event is

Six giant satellite dishes spring from the urban ground right in front the National Museum of Singapore. At the core of the satellite dishes, stroboscopic light flashes quietly, signaling activity.

Firecraker Dragon of BinYang

21 Feb

The Singapore Chingay 2010 kicked off with the entrance of the Firecraker Dragon of BinYang. It was presented by Pao Long Troupe from China, GuangXi. The ban of firecraker since 1973 was brought back to live with the loud burst of firecraker as the troupe went down the route of F1 Pit.

It was impressive and definitely a welcome sight as many Chinese Singaporean who live in the early days of the 60s and 70s would have missed the vibrancy of the Lunar New Year due to the strong silence from the absent of the firecraker.
