Most peopleĀ  visit this place for the shorebirds called the Brown Headed Seagull. The months between October and May are the best for birdwatching and it is close to Bangkok where one can make a half day trip by taxi, or make a whole day of it by going to Muang Boran Fish Ponds in the morning and then move on to Bang Poo

Little Grebe

23 Nov

The Little Grebe (Tachybaptus ruficollis), is small in size and is 23 to 29 cm in length. It is the smallestĀ  of the grebe family of water birds and is commonly found in open ponds.

These Little Gebe was facing extinction in Singapore when the last patch of their habitat wasdue for destruction. It was lucky that somehow a handful of them make it to survive at a disused Singapore Quarry that was converted into a nature reserve.
